Accessibility and Inclusivity Policies

At Craig-y-Don Hotel, we are committed to providing a welcoming, inclusive and accessible environment for all our guests. We recognise that every guest has different needs and we aim to ensure everyone can enjoy a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Our Welcome

We warmly welcome:

  • Families
  • Solo travellers
  • Couples
  • Groups
  • Coach parties
  • Guests of all backgrounds and abilities

Our team is always happy to discuss individual requirements prior to arrival and will do everything possible to accommodate guests' needs.

Arrival & Parking

There is a 30-minute drop-off zone directly outside the hotel, allowing guests to unload luggage conveniently before parking.

Parking is available:

  • On the road immediately behind the hotel
  • On nearby surrounding streets
  • In several public car parks within walking distance of the hotel

Access to the Hotel

The front elevation of the hotel consists of eight steps with a further four steps leading into the reception. Handrails are provided; however, we recognise this may present difficulties for some guests.

An alternative entrance is available at the rear of the hotel via Tyldesley Road. This entrance provides easier access for guests with mobility difficulties. At the moment, the alley is awaiting repairs from the council and is not suitable for use.

Three lifts service this area of the hotel. Approximately 30% of our bedrooms are either located on the ground floor or are directly accessible via these lifts. The rest of the bedrooms require a further four steps after exiting the lift.

Ground-floor bedrooms are equipped with grab rails in the bathroom and non-slip bath mats to provide additional support on request..

Dietary Inclusivity

We are committed to ensuring all guests can enjoy dining with confidence. Our kitchen team can cater for a wide range of dietary requirements, including:

  • Vegetarian
  • Vegan
  • Gluten-free
  • Dairy-free
  • Food allergies and intolerances

Guests are encouraged to advise us of any dietary requirements prior to arrival so we can provide the best possible experience.

Hearing & Visual Impairments

We are happy to assist guests with hearing or visual impairments wherever possible. Our team can provide additional support and guidance during your stay, and we encourage guests to discuss any specific requirements before arrival.

For safety purposes, if a guest is severely visually impaired, deaf or has significant mobility challenges, their room number will be recorded in the night porter’s emergency information log to assist in the event of an evacuation or emergency.

Assistance Dogs

Registered assistance dogs for partially sighted guests are warmly welcomed throughout the hotel. Water bowls and additional assistance can be provided upon request.

Our Commitment

We continually review our facilities and services to improve accessibility and inclusivity for all guests. If you have any questions regarding accessibility or would like to discuss your individual requirements before booking, please contact our team who will be delighted to help.
